Howdy Cosmo Crafter,
Soon you'll be able to purchase resources, spacecrafts and defenses that you're missing, or that you can't mine on your own settlement or simply that you can't build, because you're a Starlite and some ships are exclusive of the Terrelians species. Who knows? The reason for trading is yours.
So, how does the trade station works?
When purchasing, your credits will be deducted and a fleet, coming from unknown origins, will deliver to you your purchased goods - this process can take minutes or hours, depending on your Trade Station level, the distance of the seller and the weight of the goods that are being carried.
It gets a bit more fun when it comes to selling your own resources, spacecrafts and defenses.
Here's a screenshot:
So, first, you select the resources that you want to sell, you can either slide through the sliders or input the number on the tiny text box. On the right side of the screen you have the summary of your sell order, here you start by seeing the Default Charge, which is the sum of the universal costs for each of the resources. For instance, 1 unit of Iron costs 0,5556 credits, on the screenshot we have 3041 Iron, 3226 of Titanium (priced at 1,25 credits per unit), and 3065 of Carbon (priced at 0,5263 credits per unit), totalling 7335,19 credits (on your species currency)).
You then choose how much you'd like to charge for that offering, maybe you want 5000 credits for it; maybe 10000.
You can turn on "Auto Sells" which will automatically sell your resources to our AI on the defined time period (12 hours, 1 day, 2, 3, 5, 7, or 14 days.
If you kept the Auto sell off, then you can optionally choose an expiration date for you to get your resources back available on your settlement.
OK, now let's go to the taxes... and how they get calculated. For each resource there's a different applicable sell tax, which ranges all the way from 0,5% to 17%. You can see the applicable taxes on a column on the resources selection section. In our demonstration case, the total amount of Resource Taxes is 96,63 credits. This amount is non-refundable if you choose to set an expiration date.
Up next is the Excess Taxes which corresponds to 17% of the difference between your charge and the default charge, when your charge is bigger than the default charge. So, in this demonstration, the user requests 10K for its offering, +2664,81 credits than the base charge, having to pay additional 17% of that difference in taxes, corresponding to 453,02 credits.
This excess taxes and the resources taxes sum to become the Trade Taxes that the user will have to pay upon clicking "Sell Resources" (the same logic applies when selling spacecrafts of defenses). If you don't have enough credits to place the offer in the market, you'll have to decrease your offering, or buy some credits.
Finally, if you chose to auto sell your resources to our @AI, your excess taxes will be refunded and you'll get (independently of your charge) 90% of the default charge for these goods.
Tell us what you think. We are looking forward to see your offerings on our universe's trade station.
