  • The alpha-verse is collapsing and transforming into something new…

Hello Cosmo Crafter’s,

how’s the journey coming along?

We want to improve your experience while playing Cosmo Crafter, and that’s why tomorrow, around 21:00 CET the alpha universe will be rebooting in order to accommodate the latest improvements made to the economy of Cosmo Crafter.

So, what’s changing?

  • Resource prices will come down; I can’t tell you exactly how much, but the system will assign a reduction of up to 5 times their original price;
  • Resource taxes will come up by 2 to three times;
  • There will be less items available on the Trade Station;
  • Defense systems and Spacecrafts will cost less, and will require not as many different resources to be built;
  • The Exchange Office has a new mechanism to calculate the stock market values, and improve the performance; [*]
  • Universe beats 3750 times faster; wondering if the planets were actually moving? Now, every couple of minutes you’ll notice slight fluctuations; the beats were calculated to have most of the planets extinct within a time-frame of 9-12 month;
  • The Alpha-verse will become an exclusive universe for early adopters of Cosmo Crafter, with a limit of up to 51 players (or 50, excluding myself, ehe), meaning that there will only exist 17 planets instead of 125, and only a total of 155 settlements, in comparison to today’s 1600, this will increase performance on our budget-limited servers and hopefully improve your experience with Cosmo Crafter.

We have a long way to go to develop the most exciting and thrilling browser-based spacial strategy game, but we’re on our way, these adjustments is just another step towards the direction of having the most strategic, inspiring, and ever evolving game.

We count on you! Your feedback is important for us to keep bringing you the best features.

Let us know Saturday how do you like the changes!

[* unfortunately, due to other projects and ventures, like João’s Tech, the market rules might not be available, and trading will be limited at 1:1]

…and it's done! The new universe is lighter, more efficient, and with a more balanced economy.

The truth is: I've found a tiny bug on the exchange office a few weeks back. I managed to exchange currencies at 1:25000, and I managed to sack the game millions. This is not what we want of a game… So I've put myself to the task of balancing the exchange rates, reduce the net material of the game (the planet's composition of resources), and reduce too the value that each resource is valued at, to prevent expensive mass auto-sales at the Trade Station. In the future resources will have dynamic prices, based on demand and percentual scarcity in the universe.

My mission is now complete, and the universe of Cosmo Crafter is more balanced. I'm still to credit the players with the amount of credits that would've corresponded to their past transactions on this new economy. A challenge for the weekend.
